Consumer Setup

Consumers can signup directly with any valid email or SSO with Google and Outlook IDs. Unlike other user roles, consumers do not require invitations and can register independently.

Registration Methods​

1. Registering via Email​

Consumers can register directly using any valid email address:

  1. Registration Form

    • Navigate to the consumer registration page
    • Enter your email address
    • Create a secure password
    • Click "Register" to submit

  2. Personal Details

    • After email registration, consumers are asked for their personal details
    • Fill out the required personal information form
    • Submit the form to complete initial registration

  3. Email Verification

    • A verification email is sent to the provided email address
    • Check your email inbox for the verification message
    • Click the verification link to confirm your account
    • Email verification completes the onboarding process

2. Registering via SSO​

Currently the following SSO providers can be used for self-registration:

Google SSO

  • Click "Sign up with Google" on the registration page
  • Authenticate using your Google account credentials
  • Grant necessary permissions to the Recyclium platform
  • Account is automatically created and verified

Outlook SSO

  • Click "Sign up with Outlook" on the registration page
  • Authenticate using your Microsoft/Outlook account
  • Grant necessary permissions to the Recyclium platform
  • Account is automatically created and verified

Registration Process Flow​

Email Registration Flow​

  1. Initial Registration → Enter email and password
  2. Personal Information → Complete profile details
  3. Email Verification → Verify email address
  4. Account Active → Ready to use platform

SSO Registration Flow​

  1. SSO Authentication → Authenticate with Google/Outlook
  2. Permission Grant → Allow platform access
  3. Account Created → Profile automatically populated
  4. Account Active → Ready to use platform

Profile Information Required​

When registering via email, consumers must provide:

  • Personal Details

    • Full name
    • Date of birth
    • Gender (optional)
    • Profile photo (optional)

  • Contact Information

    • Phone number
    • Address
    • City
    • Country

  • Preferences

    • Language preference (English, Arabic, German)
    • Notification settings
    • Privacy preferences

Once registration is complete, consumers can:

  • Scan QR Codes - Track individual items and pouches
  • Join Missions - Participate in recycling campaigns
  • Earn Rewards - Accumulate points and claim vouchers
  • Track Impact - Monitor environmental contribution
  • Connect with Storers - Find nearby collection points
  • Access Dashboard - View personal statistics and progress

Getting Started After Registration​

  1. Download Mobile App (if available)
  2. Complete Tutorial - Learn platform basics
  3. Scan First Item - Try the QR code scanning feature
  4. Join a Mission - Find and participate in local recycling missions
  5. Explore Dashboard - Familiarize yourself with the interface
  6. Check Rewards - Understand the points and voucher system

Account Verification​

Email Verification Process​

  • Immediate Access - Consumers can access basic features immediately
  • Email Confirmation - Must verify email to unlock full features
  • Verification Link - Click link in verification email
  • Account Activated - Full platform access granted

No Additional Approval Required​

Unlike other user roles (Producer, Storer, Waste Management, Recycler), consumers do not need:

  • Admin approval
  • Producer approval
  • KYB verification
  • Business documentation

If you encounter issues during registration:

  • Check spam/junk email folders for verification emails
  • Ensure password meets security requirements
  • Verify email address is entered correctly
  • Contact platform support if SSO authentication fails
  • Review privacy settings if having trouble with profile setup
